About us
History
The history of our company dates all the way back to the 19th century. In 1898, LudvÃk Geringer founded a small textile factory on the site of the present day plant. In 1936, factory owner Vilém Eckhardt purchased it and started up the production of machinery. In 1937, the production of filters, respirators, eye shields and extinguishers began in ChotÄ›boÅ™. The plant operated on three shifts and in 1942, it employed up to 2000 workers were employed here.
In 1951, a fundamental change was made in the production programme of the plant. Apart from the existing production of autogenic technology, the company specialized in the production of equipment and machines for the beverage and dairy industry. In 1956, the production programme was expanded to include the production of enamelled equipment as well.
In 1965, CHEPOS s.p. Brno was established and ChotÄ›boÅ™ was one of its plants. In order for CHEPOS to be able to change its legal form to a trust enterprise, the ChotÄ›boÅ™ plant acquired greater independence in 1968 and thus became a state enterprise under the new name ChotÄ›boÅ™ské strojÃrny (ChotÄ›boÅ™ machine works). In 1990 it became completely independent.
In May of 1992, within the scope of privatization the plant was divided according to individual sectors into five independent entities. One of them is the present day joint stock company NATE - nápojová technika a.s., supplier of lines for the beverage industry.
